Søren Solkær Starbird is a Danish photographer based between Copenhagen and London. He enjoys travelling and has shot all over the world.
Soren is regularly commissioned for major music campaigns both in the UK and US: Shooting the likes of Stereophonics, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Mark Ronson, Vampire Weekend, The White Stripes and Regina Spektor for their Record labels.
Soren has published 2 books of his work with musicians 'Beat City' and last year's 'Closer' his very personal take on music portraiture. The release of 'Closer' was accompanied by a huge exhibition in Copenhagen's prestigious 'Ox Hall' - 25,000 feet of space featuring over 300 large prints. 'Closer' was picked up by publishing house Gingko (who print Banksy's books) for worldwide distribution and is into it's second reprint.
Soren has made wider forays into the commercial world in the past year as the main photographer for global jeanswear brand Jack and Jones and has also shot campaigns for WESC, Code 3 and Ecco as well as continuing to shoot for high end men's designer Christian Westphal.
Alongside his commercial successes Soren has continued to concentrate on the artistic side of his photography with solo exhibitions at galleries in Prague, Copenhagen, Chicago, Cologne and New York.
He had a prestigious exhibition in Milan this year with huge prints of his 'Souls' project - portraits of Yogis in meditation - hung in the Mazzotta Art Selection Museum and intends to tour this exhibition more widely this year.
